Principal Responsibilities:

Classification:10 hours per week; Non-exempt

Start Date: February 2021

Reports To: Finance Director

Salary: $15 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:

Summary: The HR Support Associate, under the supervision of the Finance Director, shares in the JCC's commitment to its mission: strengthening Jewish identity, celebrating Jewish culture, and building inclusive community. The HR Support Associate is responsible for managing the search/interview process for new employees in every department, creating and auditing employee files, scheduling onboarding, and managing employee benefits. This individual is responsible for designing and implementing an efficient, effective, and welcoming new employee onboarding process that sets the JCC's newest team members up for success.

Qualifications:

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or comparable
• SHRM membership preferred

Required Experience/Skills:

• 1-3 years experience in human resources management, preferably in employment, recruitment and placement
• Knowledge of best practices and legal restrictions in employee search/hire processes
• Understanding of federal and state hiring documentation requirements
• Experience with benefits management
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Time management and scheduling skills
• Computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
• Childcare licensing knowledge
• Knowledge of Jewish culture, values and traditions
• Criminal background check, negative drug screen

Responsibilities:

• Design written process for hiring new employees
• Coordinate with Program Directors to update position announcements and post available job positions
• Manage applicant intake and provide Program Directors with appropriate applications
• Assist Program Directors in scheduling and managing the interview process, if requested
• Coordinate employee intake process, including:
  • managing new hire paperwork completion
  • creating/auditing employee files
  • coordinating drug screenings and background checks
  • scheduling onboarding
  • training new employees on using payroll software
• Assist Finance Director with benefits management
• Schedule exit interviews for separating employees
• Additional tasks as needed
