Principal Responsibilities:
Primary Purpose of Job
The Director of Facilities is responsible for the oversight, direction, and performance of the campus facilities and the Facilities team. He/she oversees the management team responsible for day-to-day operations of the facilities and works together with various stakeholders to engage in long term facilities planning for the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience
- Third Grade Stationary Engineer's License or Higher
- Swimming Pool Operators License
- Certification in Facility Management
Minimum Qualifications:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and direction to Facilities department
- Hire, train, and coach Facility Manager and Guest Services Manager
- Work with staff to develop departmental goals annually
- Engage in strategic planning to ensure department is meeting various long term performance criteria
- Develop leaders throughout department and work to establish succession planning in key roles
- Develop and approve various departmental policies
- Oversee and direct capital improvements to campus
- Develop 5-year capital budgets for campus
- Bid projects to multiple vendors, develop RFPs as necessary for capital improvement projects
- Coordinate vendors on large capital and construction projects
- Approve and direct the use of funding for the maintenance and improvement of the campus
- Approve annual expense and capital budgets
- Assist with the negotiation of contracts
- Oversee departmental salary structure and approve all merit increases and starting hiring salaries
- Work with key stakeholder groups to ensure campus is maintained at a high level
- Work with committee chair to lead Building and Grounds committee
- Meet regularly with Agency Directors to ensure needs are met and to engage in capital planning within their areas
- Work with other Central Services managers to ensure overall Central Services goals are aligned and executed
- Sit on Campus Security Team and assist with policy development and staff training; oversee implementation of security infrastructure
- Serve as Jewish Federation of Omaha's representative in all community-wide security meetings
- Guide the organization in long-term Facilities planning
- Facilitate conversations related to the procurement of property, lease negotiations, and strategic planning related to the campus facilities
- Develop plans for future ergonomic needs and facilitate space planning for building occupants
- Work with architects, designers, and construction vendors to ensure thoughtful design and execution of large scale campus projects
- Provide oversight to capital asset management processes and procedures

Salary:

The Staenberg, Kooper, Fellman Campus of the Jewish Federation of Omaha and Jewish Community Center are undergoing a $33M renovation to their campus, including new outdoor and indoor aquatic complexes, a completely reimagined theater, and brand new fitness spaces. The Director of Facilities will be a key figure in shaping the use of a premier fitness, arts, education, and senior care facility in Omaha, Nebraska.
