The Early Childhood Assistant Director ensures the facility is a safe and fun place for children to learn. He/she is tasked with a wide variety of responsibilities, including assisting the Early Childhood Director with managing staff and teachers, interacting with parents, and assisting with PTO, marketing, and financial duties.
Job Responsibilities
- Support
the Early Childhood Director to motivate, engage and develop a strong team
of diverse early childhood educators
- Support the Early Childhood Director with the implementation of school policies, procedures and regulations
- Support the Early Childhood Director to guide staff in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum
- Assist the Early Childhood Director with monitoring school enrollment
- Assist the Early Childhood Director to create an aesthetically pleasing and positive environment for staff, parents and students
- Supervise the payroll and all H/R related forms; liaison to the H/R department
- Develop appropriate relationships and maintain good rapport with staff, parents, and students
- Liaison to the Marketing department to provide content for marketing materials, both print, media and social media
- Maintain compliance with Florida Department of Childcare Licensing standards
- Maintain student records according to DCF license standards
- Cordially greet parents and visitors to the school.Support the Early Childhood Director with touring prospective families
- Conduct classroom observations as asked to do so by Early Childhood Director
- Responsible for comparative pricing, shopping, supply inventory and acquisition as needed and directed
- Provide support to the PTO and their events including but not limited to fundraisers, holiday events and any special events
- Provide support and relief for Early Childhood staff as directed
- Ability to work effectively with a director, faculty, the public, young children, parents and work colleagues
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Work Skills Requirements
- BA/BS preferred
- Education in Psychology, Early Childhood, Education, Child Development, Public Administration or Jewish Communal Service and Communications
- Highly organized with time management skills and attention to detail.Meet schedules and deadlines
- Excellent grammar, communication skills (written and verbal)
- Computer savvy and ability to learn new/changing software.Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Internet and social media platforms are preferred
- Able to work year-round, school and camp; long hours, some evenings and weekends.
- Bi-lingual or tri-lingual desirable (Hebrew, Spanish)
- Trustworthy and responsible
Salary:
$35,000 - $45,000
