Pay Rate (Hourly): $19.5020.50 per hour

Overview

Join our welcoming JCC community as an Assistant Teacher in our Shalom Children's Center! A key member of the teaching team, the Assistant Teacher partners with the Lead Teacher to create a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child. This role ensures high-quality, individualized care and maintains compliance with NC DCDEE guidelines while embodying the JCC's values of community, learning, and excellence.

What You'll Do

• Support developmentally appropriate, engaging classroom activities.
• Foster empathy, problem-solving, and community among children.
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom environment that promotes exploration in accordance with NC DCDEE guidelines.
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher on lesson plans and documentation.
• Build positive, professional relationships with children, families, and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

What We're Looking For

• NC Early Childhood Credential (NCECC), or working toward it
• At least one year of experience in a preschool environment
• Strong teamwork, flexibility, and communication skills
• Ability to actively engage with children and ensure their safety.
• NC Qualifying Letter (before start date) and CPR/First Aid certification (within 90 days of hire)
• Basic computer proficiency (Outlook, Word, Zoom, communication apps)
