The JCC is now hiring for summer lifeguard positions - are you looking for a fun and energetic work environment? Would you like to work outdoors? Being a lifeguard a great way to gain experience with a job that really matters - the pool depends on you! Emergency response is a vital service, and the community interaction you will gain is invaluable.
WE WILL TRAIN YOU! JCC provided lifeguard classes will confer an American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification with CPR/AED/First Aid.
Summer Season:
The "School Based" summer is June through August.
Our outdoor pool is typically open May through September (maybe as late as October, weather depending)
Summer lifeguards are of course welcome to continue employment through the school year!

The Aquatic Complex at the Jewish Community Center is unrivaled in Grater Columbus. Our outdoor pool facilities include a competition pool and two shallow pool areas centered upon an expansive pool deck with lounge chairs, concession area and shaded patio.

Position overview :
The safety and well-being of all persons using the pool is the primary concern and responsibility of the lifeguard position.This is accomplished through the proper enforcement of all the Jewish Community Center policies, procedures, and rules regarding pool use.Optimally, by doing this, being alert, and being prepared to act in an emergency at all times, accidents will be prevented.

The JCC requires all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Pay rate is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:
1. Knowledge and Education - Minimum Required or Preferred:American Red Cross Lifeguard certification - CPRPR, First Aid - the JCC WILL TRAIN YOU!
2. Experience - Minimum Required or Preferred:none
3. Special Skills: Must pass a pre-employment skills test. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
4. For lessons: Must be able to teach, communicate, and work with people of all ages.
