The Opportunity: The Binghamton JCC is seeking a skilled, dependable, and motivated Facilities Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining buildings and grounds, enjoys solving problems, and appreciates the variety that comes with no two days being exactly the same.
As our Facilities Technician, you will help ensure that our 60,000-square-foot community center and 8-acre campus remain safe, clean, attractive, and fully operational for the thousands of members, program participants, and visitors who use our facility each year.
This is a hands-on position responsible for a wide range of facility maintenance and repair tasks, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, preventative maintenance, minor renovations, landscaping, snow removal, and general building upkeep. You will also work closely with trusted contractors and vendors who provide specialized services such as major electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and pool system maintenance.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to providing a welcoming environment for our children, members, and guests.
Compensation
$18.50 - $21.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Who You Are: You are a hands-on maintenance professional who takes pride in keeping facilities safe, functional, and well-maintained. You possess working knowledge of the systems, equipment, and tools required to operate a large commercial facility efficiently and effectively.
The ideal candidate will have experience in several of the following areas:
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), such as MaintainX, is a plus but not required.
Additional Qualifications:
All tools, equipment, and necessary safety gear are provided.
Schedule: Core hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
Seasonal flexibility is required during winter months to support snow plowing, salting, and shoveling operations. The Facilities Technician plays a critical role in ensuring our campus is safe and accessible so that the JCC can open on time for members, staff, and program participants.

Since its inception in 1927, the Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Binghamton, NY has grown to become an essential part of the Broome County community. As a full-service, non-profit organization, the JCC provides educational, cultural, recreational, and physical fitness programs to enhance the quality of life for all ages, from infants to senior citizens. As a non-sectarian United Way partner, the JCC welcomes participants regardless of age, race, religion, sexual orientation, nationality, or ability to pay.
The JCC's facility houses a natatorium with a 2,250 square foot pool, fitness center, men's and women's health clubs with steam & sauna rooms, a fitness loft with spin bikes and Pilates reformers, auditorium, and beautiful gymnasium. Over 200 children are served daily at our award-winning Early Childhood Center. Our year-round educational childcare includes UPK, after-school program, summer camp, and youth sports offerings.
The 8-acre land also features outdoor tennis/pickleball and basketball courts, pavilion, nature preserve, soccer field, and three age-appropriate playgrounds.
