Principal Responsibilities:

The aquatics coordinator ensures direct communication in coordinating a growing program and number of private lessons in our Aquatics department throughout the year. The aquatics coordinator will pair families with suitable instructors, process and track payments, and coordinate the instructor/private lessons master schedule. Their time will be split 50/50 between administrative duties and instructing/guarding.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least one year of supervisory experience within a pool/aquatics setting are required.

Previous experience and/or current skills must include: Strong customer service skills and ability to work with people of all ages; strong organizational skills and ability to multitask; experience working effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Computer Skills:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write clear and concise routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to the carrying out of detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to apply problem solving skills involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands: To perform the job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, walk, swim, paddle, and stand. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, climb, balance, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to lift, push, and/or pull persons or equipment over 75 pounds and perform each of the 4 strokes with proficiency. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Environmental Conditions: The work is frequently performed around or in a pool facility, with a moderate noise level. Surfaces are frequently slippery and wet. Occasionally work is performed in an office environment, with a moderate noise level. Local travel may be required.
