Principal Responsibilities:

The Community & Cultural Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing and supervising all JCC community & cultural events which implement the mission of the agency.
REMARKS: This position is a part-time position of 50 hours per month. Employee will have required office hours. Employee must also be available to work evenings, weekends, and Federal holidays including, but not limited to Memorial Day Weekend, July 4th, and Labor Day Weekend. The Jewish Community Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
The Community & Cultural Events Coordinator is responsible for identifying community and staff resources needed to carry out events. They will be the lead contact for all large scale JCC and community-wide events.
1. Event Planning
a. Works with JCC staff and greater Raleigh-Cary community to plan and execute community, campus, cultural and holiday events including, but not limited to: Quarterly Jewish holiday programs, Food & Film events, Campus Dedication & fundraising events, Community partnership events with Town of Cary and other entities, and summer holiday pool parties.
b. Plans & monitors entire event proceedings.
c. Recruit capable staff & volunteers to provide assistance in the course of the event.
d. Plan & execute the event based on the budget of the community.
e. Negotiate with the appropriate vendors before the event and book venues if needed.
f. Communicate marketing needs to Program Manager.
g. Create day of checklists for staff and volunteers.
2. Relationship with Community Organizations
a. Maintains cooperative relationships with organizations and agencies that can contribute to the JCC's programs.
b. Serves with colleagues in similar positions on community wide committees for event planning.
c. Participates with other agencies in developing joint programs and community wide activities.
d. Upon assignment by the Program Manager, represents the agency in other community activity.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Must have strong knowledge of Judaism & Jewish culture.
2. Minimum of 2 years' experience in an event planning or similar field.
3. Possession of excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
4. Team supervision and leadership skills.
5. Good organizational and coordinating abilities.
6 . Possess the ability to multi-task and problem solve.
It is expected that the Community & Cultural Events Coordinator will be a team player as part of the JCC Professional Staff. He/she is expected to be aware of the JCC Mission Statement and work within the frameworks of that mission. Responsibilities of the job may be changed as the needs of the JCC and/or community change.
